The Awarding Night of the Steel Architectural Awards Indonesia 2026 on 17 September 2026 marked the moment when finalist and winning projects received recognition on the awards stage.

Steel Architectural Awards Indonesia 2026 reached its culmination with the Awarding Night on 17 September 2026. The event celebrated selected architectural works following the national judging process while announcing five award-winning projects across the Industrial, Commercial, Residential, Institutional, Public & Others categories, as well as the special recognition for Lasting Beauty of COLORBOND® Steel.

The Awarding Night was held as part of the Indonesian Institute of Architects' activities in Labuan Bajo on the final day of the IAI National Working Meeting 2026. The occasion also coincided with the celebration of IAI's 67th anniversary and was followed by the opening of Architecture on the Sky.

The main agenda of the Steel Architectural Awards 2026 Awarding Night centered on announcing the selected projects, presenting trophies to architects or project team representatives, recognizing the participants' journey throughout the competition, and holding joint documentation sessions that brought together the architectural community and project teams on one stage.

A total of 10 finalists who had passed Stage II of the judging process were invited to attend the culmination of the event. Their presence made the Awarding Night more than simply an announcement of the winners. It also served as the closing chapter of the national selection process, bringing all finalist projects together before five projects received awards and four main-category winners advanced to the ASEAN stage.

The awards highlighted not only architectural form but also the way coated steel was incorporated into design strategies, from roofing and façades to building envelopes and elements that shape a project's visual character. 1. Jakarta Premium Outlet – Commercial Winner

Awarding Night moment as Jakarta Premium Outlet received the Commercial category award.

Category: Commercial

Jakarta Premium Outlet was designed by Ar. Mohammad Archica Danisworo, IAI, together with Pandega Desain Weharima (PDW), and was named the winner of the Commercial category. Located in Alam Sutera, Tangerang, the project was developed as an open-air lifestyle center that combines retail masses, open promenades, landscaping, outdoor corridors, ramps, and communal spaces, allowing the shopping experience to unfold as a spatial journey rather than merely an activity within individual retail units.

For its roofing system, Jakarta Premium Outlets uses LYSAGHT® KLIP-LOK OPTIMA™ 0.45 BMT G550 with COLORBOND® XRW AZ150 in Mist Green and Night Sky. Mist Green serves as the primary color that connects visually with the landscape, while Night Sky is used as an accent on selected surfaces. The profile, colors, gutters, panel orientation, and canopies were developed as an integrated part of the overall identity of the development.

2. Euroasiatic Head Quarter – Industrial Winner

Awarding Night moment as Euroasiatic Head Quarter received the Industrial category award.

Euroasiatic Head Quarter was designed by Ar. Mohammad Archica Danisworo, IAI, together with Pandega Desain Weharima (PDW), and received the Industrial category award. Located in Taman Tekno BSD, the complex brings together offices, warehouses, gardens, a cafeteria, sports facilities, and shared spaces through the concept of the new way of working. The massing and landscape were designed so that operational requirements remain connected to the quality of spaces experienced by users.

The project uses LYSAGHT® TRIMDEK® OPTIMA for wall applications with COLORBOND® HI-TEN G550 in Sonata Blue and Steel Gull Grey. For the roofing areas, the project uses LYSAGHT® KLIP-LOK® OPTIMA 0.45 mm TCT with COLORBOND® HI-TEN G550, including Lazurite Blue. The system is combined with aluminium foil insulation and Thermatech® technology as part of the roofing assembly.

3. IC House – Residential Winner

Awarding Night moment as IC House received the Residential category award.

IC House was designed by Ar. Jeffri Angkasa, IAI, together with Angkasa Architects, and was named the winner of the Residential category. The residence in Surabaya explores the form of a pitched roof that continues downward to become part of the façade and building envelope. Secondary skins, an inner court, skylights, and carefully arranged openings are used to manage privacy, natural light, ventilation, and the relationship between the interior and the tropical climate.

For its building envelope, IC House uses BlueScope LYSAGHT® LOCKED SEAM® with COLORBOND® Steel in Gull Grey. The seam direction emphasizes the roof slope while visually connecting the vertical and upper surfaces. Gull Grey supports the composition of grey, black, white, timber, and vegetation throughout the residence.

4. Desa Binaan Tampelas – Institutional, Public & Others Winner

Awarding Night moment as Desa Binaan Tampelas received the Institutional, Public & Others category award.

Category: Institutional, Public & Others

Desa Binaan Tampelas in Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, was designed by Ar. Prasetyoadi, ST., MUDD., IAI., AA., GP, together with Pandega Desain Weharima (PDW), and became the winner of the Institutional, Public & Others category.

The project was developed as community-based social infrastructure using a stilt-building approach to respond to an area affected by flooding. Walkways, communal spaces, production facilities, water management systems, productive gardens, and solar energy systems are integrated into a unified spatial network.

The project uses LYSAGHT® TRATAS® in Hitam Rokan on selected roofing areas, combined with 4 mm bubble foil insulation. The ribbed profile follows the roof slope and helps unify the building clusters, while the dark color creates contrast with the structural frames and timber façades.

5. Abadi Klender – Lasting Beauty of COLORBOND® Steel Winner

Awarding Night moment as Abadi Klender Center received the special recognition for Lasting Beauty of COLORBOND® Steel.

Abadi Klender Center completes the list of five award recipients through the special recognition for Lasting Beauty of COLORBOND® Steel. The project was designed by Ar. Cahyo Wilis Candrawan, IAI., GP., together with PT Pavilion Sembilanlima.

Abadi Klender Center is recognized for its use of steel cladding as a defining element of its contemporary industrial façade. The use of LYSAGHT® LOCKED SEAM® as a cladding material, together with COLORBOND® Steel, plays a major role in shaping the building's façade character.

10 Finalists of the Steel Architectural Awards Indonesia 2026

Before the five award recipients were announced, 10 projects had been selected as the Top 10 Finalists of the Steel Architectural Awards Indonesia 2026 across five categories. All 10 finalists were invited to attend the Awarding Night on 17 September 2026, making the event a reunion of architects and project teams following the national judging process.

The diversity of the finalists demonstrates how material systems were selected according to the typology and requirements of each project.
