Closing of Steel Architectural Awards Indonesia 2026 and NTT Resilient House Handover

The Steel Architectural Awards (SAA) Indonesia 2026 officially concluded with a meaningful contribution to local communities. Beyond recognizing outstanding architectural achievements in Indonesia, PT NS BlueScope Indonesia, together with the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI), donated one Resilient House and one sanitation facility (MCK) to communities affected by earthquakes in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The donation was symbolically presented during the Steel Architectural Awards Indonesia 2026 ceremony on September 17, 2026, in Labuan Bajo, NTT.

This initiative highlights how architectural innovation extends beyond building aesthetics to create meaningful solutions that improve people's living environments.

NTT Resilient House: A Modular Housing Solution for Post-Disaster Recovery

The Resilient House is an innovative modular housing solution developed using prefabricated steel construction to address the urgent need for shelter in post-disaster situations.

One of its key advantages is construction efficiency. Using prefabricated components, the Resilient House can be assembled in approximately 2–5 working days, enabling faster housing solutions for affected communities.

In terms of materials, the structure incorporates LYSAGHT® light-gauge steel framing and BlueScope ZACS®. The building's exterior covering uses LYSAGHT® TRATAS® profiles made from BlueScope ZACS® Natural Hitam Rokan.

This combination of materials and construction systems is designed to support structural strength, construction efficiency, and an architectural appearance suited to post-disaster housing needs.

Irfan Fauzie, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at PT NS BlueScope Indonesia, emphasized that the handover of disaster-response housing reflects the company's commitment to supporting community needs.

In addition to the Resilient House handover, the closing ceremony of Steel Architectural Awards Indonesia 2026 announced four winners in the main categories and one recipient of the Special Recognition – Lasting Beauty of COLORBOND® Steel award.
