The Jakarta International Horse Racing in Pulomas, East Jakarta, underwent major renovations in 2018 in preparation for hosting the ASIAN Games. This renovation includes not only facility upgrades, but also a stunning transformation of the building's design. One of the most striking elements of the renovation is the roof and facade, which have a stunning curved design.
This curved design is not just an aesthetic aspect, but also has a deep meaning. This curved roof represents elegance and beauty in horse jumping which is the main focus of this racetrack. Additionally, the curved design also reflects the power inherent in equestrian sport, which demands extraordinary courage and strength from athletes and their horses.
During the renovation process, COLORBOND® steel was chosen as the main material for the roof and facade of the building. This decision was not only based on its visual beauty, but also on the superiority of a technology called Thermatech® Solar Reflectance Technology. This technology allows COLORBOND® steel to reduce heat absorption by the building, thereby making roof and wall surfaces cooler.
The benefits of using COLORBOND® with Thermatech® Solar Reflectance Technology are very significant, especially in areas like East Jakarta which tend to have hot weather. Apart from providing comfort for building occupants, this technology can also help reduce cooling energy consumption, thereby supporting environmental conservation efforts.
With a combination of beautiful design and advanced technology, the Jakarta International Horse Race at Pulomas is now not only a stunning venue for equestrian sports, but also a showcase of innovation and beauty in modern architecture. The 2018 renovation really made this arena one of the most prestigious in Asia.
