The area includes buildings located approximately 201 to 400 meters from the shoreline, or 101 to 200 meters from calmer waters. Although the intensity of salt exposure is lower than in extreme coastal zones, the environment still presents a considerable corrosion risk.

Salt odor may still be occasionally noticeable, and salt buildup continues to occur on structural areas that are not regularly washed by rain. For energy and mining facilities operating in this zone, selecting the right material remains critical to ensure long service life without degradation caused by environmental exposure.

This area includes buildings located approximately 401 meters to 1000 meters from the ocean, although strong winds in mining or energy environments may extend salt exposure further inland.

Within this transitional zone, corrosive exposure is significantly reduced; however, the influence of the marine environment must still be considered when selecting materials. Operational facilities such as equipment storage warehouses, hangars, and utility buildings in this area still require adequate corrosion resistance to ensure long-term performance.

This area includes buildings located more than 2 kilometers from active industrial environments and their associated corrosive exposure, as well as at least 1 kilometer from all coastal environments listed above. Although environmental conditions are relatively more stable, they are still influenced by surrounding industrial activities.
